On a monthly basis over 100 people who are domestic violence victims are helped with shelters, parenting skills, lawyers and psychologists. For many of the elderly, there are classes regarding their rights, and in addition over 400 are helped monthly, as well as other needy families, with bags of groceries. DIF provides 3 kindergartens and 3 daycare centers to aid families where both parents work. There is psychological help for over 400 persons with individual or group therapy.
The Boys and Girls Club

Boys And Girls
The Boys and Girls Club, new to Rosarito, but well known all over the U.S. and in some Cities of Mexico, including Tijuana, has as their goal helping children form ages 6 to 16 years of age to develop human skills, discipline and respect. To have a building, “the ideal place to grow” will be a wonderful place to have sports events and other endeavors in a safe and protected environment. In addition there will be the opportunity for people in the community to mentor these children, a lifetime blessing for the recipient and the mentor.
If any reader of this column who cannot make it to the event on October 11th, but if you care to help with donations whether it is your time, money, nonperishable food, clothing, medical prescriptions, etc. That haven’t yet expired, all charities would be extremely grateful.
The Flying Samaritans

Flying Samaritans
The Flying Samaritans is also a non profit charity that was founded in 1961 in El Rosario, Baja, Mexico. There are several chapters in Baja, but Rosario’s free medical clinic began in 1995 and has been serving the local population since that time. There are three clinics a month, two for general medical services and one for hearing services which include testing, repair and molding for hearing aids that are provided at a greatly reduced cost. The clinics are supported by member dues, financial and medical donations and are manned each Saturday by a variety of volunteers. Most are local members, but several doctors and nurses come from So. Ca. when they have a day to donate. The clinic sees every patient until there is no one waiting in line. There are cases where a patient is in urgent need of surgery and is taken to another Baja city for the procedure.
